Today I am going to review about Tresemme’s latest products, their volumizing shampoo, and conditioner in which you #ReverseYourRoutine. Read on to know what I think about these products.
First of all, I would like to put out there that I have very fine, straight hair that gets greasy very easily and also tangles a lot. I often need volumizing products and I cannot skip the conditioner. As a result, my hair gets extremely greasy and I have to wash my hair often. This is a major problem, especially during the summers. Using a conditioner at the end makes my hair turn greasy very quickly. Long ago, I had read a tip where they suggested that conditioner must be used before the shampoo. This didn’t work very well as my hair would become unmanageable. So I didn’t stick to using this tip as the conditioner wasn’t formulated to be used before shampoo. I went back to using the usual shampoo and then conditioner routine and used a truck load of products to keep my hair volumized.
I am so glad that Tresemme finally formulated a product to tackle this situation. There are many out there who have fine hair and don’t necessarily use a lot of products. So this conditioner-shampoo is a great solution to keep the hair voluminous, tangle-free and manageable. Moving on to the products, both the products are white in color and have a very pleasant floral fragrance which I think is a little different from the rest of the Tresemme products that I have used so far.
The pre-wash conditioner is a thicker consistency than a usual conditioner. There are no instructions on the bottle as to how long you need to keep the product. I have used this product a few times now. I have left this in my hair for as long as five minutes and also have tried washing it off almost immediately after applying it. I must say, it works very well both ways. The shampoo leaves your hair smelling great, voluminous and manageable. I have been loving this product for the summer. This is my holygrail products during these summer months. I haven’t had to wash my hair that often.
This is an answer for everyone with fine hair that has struggled with greasy hair and products that weigh down your hair. This is a drugstore product that won’t hurt your wallet. Give this product a try and you won’t be disappointed.
Will I Repurchase? Yes, I definitely will.

Today I am reviewing a mascara from one of the most loved brands in the eye makeup department from the drugstore – the original ‘carbon black mascara from L’Oreal’.
Price: $4 to $7… depending on where you buy from
Quantity: 0.26Fl oz/ 7.7 ml
My Experience with the Mascara:
I admit I have started using mascara very recently. I am not a mascara person at all. This is one of the first mascaras I have used. I have fairly long lashes. The problem I have with my lashes is that my lashes fall flat and they lashes do not hold up a curl. I knew that I did not need a lengthening mascara but needed a volumising one. When I started searching, I found that L’Oreal carbon black mascara is popular with everyone. Needless to say, I bought it on my subsequent trip to the drugstore. I had great expectations from this mascara. First of all, my lashes clump when I apply this mascara. After applying this, I literally go over with the dual ended mascara and brow brush to declump it. Secondly, it flakes. It flakes a lot and I have the flakes all over my undereye within an hour or 2 after applying. I have noticed that on the days I don’t declump this mascara, it flakes way more than usual.
On the other hand, I do like the brush. It’s a standard bristled brush. I did get a compliment from my bf when we were out one evening. He was taking my pictures and he instantly commented “you have humungous lashes.” Clearly, the mascara does a great job with volumising and it also held up the curl very well. It is really carbon black. I put some make up remover on my makeup remover towelette to take off this mascara. Also, the packaging is very sleek and easy to carry around. I have a love hate relationship with this mascara. I am not sure where the problem is. Either I don’t know how to apply a mascara or the formula has dried up.
- Gives a great volume
- It is carbon black
- Standard bristled brush
- No sensitivity to my eyes of an sort
- Sleek packaging
- Very flaky formula
Will you repurchase? I am going to give this another try for sure.
P.S.: I will keep this post updated.
If you have combination/ oily skin and have always wondered why your makeup looks cakey or just doesn’t last too long. You need to add an important step to your foundation routine – PRIMER. I know there are many of you who have not considered using a primer at all. Well, it’s never too late. I wasn’t sure which primer should I try out and after searching a bit, I decided to settle on Monistat Chafing relief powder gel.
Price: $5.98 at my local Walmart but I had a coupon and ended up paying 4.98. So this costs approximately $5
Quantity: 1.5 oz/ 42 gms
Product claims: The product claims to other things 😀 😀 but as the name suggests it is a powder gel. So the gel on application, turns into a smooth powder like on your skin
Ingredients: The most important ingredient Monistat has is Dimethicone and that’s why this works great as a primer
My experience with the product: The area of the skin where this product is to be applied is equally sensitive as our face. Monistat doesn’t have any fragrance at all and this is mentioned clearly on the tube. It comes in a clear gel form in a flip top tube. The flip top is a little flimsy so you need to make sure that it’s shut close properly. It once oozed out in my makeup bag. And the product itself feels very smooth when you apply it on your skin. And you can immediately see that your pores start to disappear. It sort of fills in your pores and makes the skin even. And moreover when you apply a foundation, it glides on smoothly. The foundation application becomes a lot easier. With Monistat, it’s less of a work to apply the foundation especially when you are in a rush. As the day goes by, you’ll notice that the oiliness doesn’t show through the foundation. It helps to control the oiliness to an extent. To conclude, I can say that using a primer helps the makeup application easier and lasts longer. Anyone who’s not tried a primer, I would say this is a good product to start with.
- The feel of the product on my skin
- Pores disappear
- Evens out the skin
- Clear gel
- Fragrance free
- Works very well as a primer
- The flimsy packaging
Will I repurchase? I love this product for priming my face but I plan to try a good face primer.
