I had read quite a few reviews about the Garnier oil cleanser. I was looking for a nice cleanser and I had a few coupons. So, I bought the product and tried it. I couldn’t take any pictures for this post. Read on to know why.

My experience with the product:
The product is a clear oil in a pump bottle. This product smells nice and somewhat like nuts. Apparently, it contains macademia nut oil. Using this product is easy just like any other cleanser. I take this product and massage onto my dry skin and then I wet my palms with warm water and continue massaging this onto my skin. The product emulsifies. And when I wash off with water, my skin feels squeaky clean. This product works great when my skin is all dry. But on the days when my skin is oily-combination to normal, I really need to use a foaming cleanser as this feels a bit greasy. I do not get this product into my eyes even by mistake as they make my eyes very sensitive. I don’t know if this can take off the eye makeup. I also like to use it when I have a heavy foundation make up on.
However, there is a small rant about this product. I store this on a wooden surface and I noticed that it had completely stained the surface. I had no idea the product was leaking because the packaging and product both are clear. For once, I thought that bottle had cracked but I went on to figure out that the pump was faulty. I pump this twice to get enough product because each time I pump, half the product oozes out of this tiny opening. I don’t know if I got a faulty piece or in general it has a flimsy pump. The bottle is sleek and I would have much rather preferred a flip top cap instead of that giant mess-making pump. I have transferred it to a mess free bottle. I didn’t hate the product nor did I like it as such but it was a severe mess.
Note: I couldn’t take any pictures at all because I had to throw away that messy bottle. But I have tried to explain that in the pic below.
Likes:
- Suitable for dry skin
- Removes make up effectively
Dislikes:
- Packaging is a mess, forget about it being travel friendly
- Can make the eyes very sensitive
- May not be suitable for normal skin types.
Ratings: 2/5 for the mess it has created
Will I repurchase? No. This was a bummer. I will much rather invest in a cream cleanser instead of this mess.
